The shortlist for the Marketing Week Awards is led by Kraft Heinz, Tesco, and ITV.

HSBC, Specsavers, Trainline, and the BBC have also garnered multiple nominations for the 2023 Marketing Week Awards, alongside VCCP, BBH, Mother, and VMLY&R/The Pharm, which are among the most shortlisted agencies. Brands like Kraft Heinz, Tesco, ITV, HSBC, BBC, and Trainline are leading the nominations at the prestigious awards event in partnership with The Ozone Project.

Tesco leads the pack with six nominations, including one for Tesco Mobile. Their campaigns “Together this Ramadan” and “The Christmas Party” created with BBH are up for Retail and Ecommerce, Diversity and Inclusion in Marketing, and Multichannel Marketing awards. “Clubcard Accepted” is shortlisted for Social Media, and Tesco Mobile’s “Weaponising Pasta” campaign is in the running for the Media and Telecoms prize.

Kraft Heinz follows closely with five nominations, including recognition for its collaboration with Absolut Vodka for a pasta sauce in multiple categories. “Beanz Liberation,” an initiative introducing the brand into new formats, is also nominated for the Brand Innovation award.

HSBC, ITV, Specsavers, Trainline, and the BBC are also strong contenders with four nominations each, while several other brands, such as Boots, Channel 4, Mars Wrigley, Mastercard, Scania UK, Sky, and TUI, have three nominations.

The shortlist includes new categories, such as Brand Building Excellence in B2B, with contenders like Abrdn, Avanade, DP World, Focus Group, PwC, Sage, and Xero. The Best Use of Account-Based Marketing award will go to ABB, Atos, BP, or NTT. Additionally, the Business-to-Business category features brands like Addleshaw Goddard, Disco, Jewson, Rockwool UK, Sage, Scania GB, TikTok for Business, Vipps, and Wickes.

Marketing Team of the Year shortlist includes brands like Boots, Addleshaw Goddard, ITV, London Metropolitan University, Ovo, and Paddy Power, while Agency of the Year contenders are Ear to the Ground, BBH, Mother, DEPT, HUT 3, VCCP, and VMLY&R/The Pharm.

The shortlist was determined by a jury of senior marketers from prominent UK businesses, and the winners will be revealed at an awards ceremony at The Londoner Hotel in Central London on 1 November. The highly competitive awards celebrate the industry’s brightest minds and showcase marketing’s role in driving growth for organizations, even in challenging circumstances. The Brand of the Year shortlist will be unveiled in August.
